Scholarship Description
Comprehensive support for economically disadvantaged but academically gifted young women from Uganda to study at partner universities.
The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Makerere University provides academically talented yet economically disadvantaged young people in Uganda with access to quality education.
The program is designed to develop next-generation leaders who are committed to social and economic transformation of the African continent.
Beyond financial support, scholars receive comprehensive mentoring, leadership development, and life skills coaching. The scholarship covers all costs for the duration of the undergraduate study.

- Accommodation in University-approved halls or residences.
- Monthly stipend for food and personal upkeep.
- Annual laptop allowance and study materials budget.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Must be a citizen of Uganda residing in the country.
Academic Merit
Minimum 15 points in UACE or equivalent.
Age Limit
Must be under 25 years at the time of application.
Economic Status
Proven financial need and disadvantaged background.
